Ingredients

1/2 cup cornmeal
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon brown sugar
Green tomatoes, thickly sliced
Salt and pepper
Butter for frying

Preparation

  1. In a shallow bowl, mix together the cornmeal, thyme, and sugar. Sprinkle the tomato slices with salt and pepper. Dip the slices in the cornmeal mixture and fry in butter until brown.
